MCP tool — a function exposed by an MCP server

An **MCP tool** is a typed function exposed by an MCP server. The tool has a schema (parameters + return type). MCP-compatible hosts list available tools; the AI model can choose to call them.

GenZAgents MCP tools

16 tools. draft_receipt + verify_receipt for receipt operations. restore_chat for cross-provider handoff. org_context_lookup for de-dup. snapshot_agent_memory for memory capture. See /mcp for the full list.

Tool authorisation

Hosts typically prompt the user before invoking write tools. Read-only tools can be auto-approved per host policy.

Tool discovery

tools/list MCP method returns the available tools + their schemas. The host shows them to the model as available functions.
